ADMIXTURES FOR CONCRETE

Admixtures are those ingredients in concrete other than portland cement, water, and aggregates that are added to the mixture immediately before or during mixing.  Concrete, the single most widely-used building material in the world, has a history dating back to the Romans and ancient Egyptians. Given that concrete is used twice as much in construction over all other building materials, emphasis on quality, performance, and sustainability is essential for the industry to grow and thrive. One of the most important ingredients in high performance, long-lasting, durable, and beautiful concrete produced today are concrete admixtures. Concrete admixtures are natural or manufactured chemicals or additives added during concrete mixing to enhance specific properties of the fresh or hardened concrete, such as workability, durability, or early and final strength. The admixtures are added to concrete based on their functions. Retardation or acceleration of concrete setting time, reduce segregation and water to cement ratio, improve pump ability, accelerate the rate of strength development, etc. are examples of the function of admixtures.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF ADMIXTURES WE DEAL WITH

Water Reducing Agent- Polycarboxylate Ether

Description:
Polycarboxylate Ether (PC) is widely used as a water-reducing agent in the concrete industry while maintaining a high fluidity via the polymer adsorption to the cement particles.
Example: Perma Plast PC-401

Naphthalene based superplasticizer (NF)

Description:
Naphtha Formaldehyde Based Admixture is a high range, low dosage as well as super plasticizing admixture for slump retention. It is a product based on refine Naphthalene formaldehyde blends.
Example: Perma Plast NF

Accelerator admixture (AC)

Description:
Accelerating admixtures are best defined as those which, when added to concrete, mortar, or paste, increase the rate of hydration of hydraulic cement, shorten the time of setting and increase the rate of early strength development.
Example: Perma Plast AC

Air Entraining and Water Reducing Agent

Description:
It is an admixture that causes the development of a system of microscopic air bubbles in cement paste during mixing, usually to increase its resistance to freezing and thawing and to improve workability
Example: Perma Plast-AEA

Retarding Admixtures

Description:
Retarding admixtures are used to slow the rate of setting of concrete. By slowing the initial setting time, the concrete mixture can stay in its fresh mix state long before it gets to its hardened form.
Example: Perma Retard

Grouting Admixtures

Description:
Grouting Admixture is the admixture used for grouting mortars, non-shrink concrete, and grouting cement slurries. It is a free-flowing grey powder particularly made for injection grouting of porous concrete.
Example: Perma Grout-500

Micro Silica

Description:
Micro Silica or silica fume is an excellent admixture for concrete as it leads to better engineering properties. It reduces thermal cracking, improves durability, and increases strength.
Example: G-Chem Microfine

Microfine G-Fine:

Description:
A new generation supplementary cementitious material (SCM) with built-in high tech content. In spite of its high fineness, it does not increase water demand at the dosage range of 5 to 15 percent of normal OPC in general.
Example: G-Fine Microfine
