Spillway Steel Plate Lining – Kaligandaki-A Hydropower Station
Spillway Steel Plate Lining – Kaligandaki-A Hydropower Station
This project involved the precision installation of steel plate lining on the spillway chute of the Kaligandaki-A Hydropower Station, a 144 MW facility located in Syangja District. The work aimed to enhance the spillway’s durability, hydraulic performance, and resistance to abrasion caused by high-velocity water flow and sediment load.
Through the use of high-grade structural steel plates, advanced anchoring systems, and precision alignment techniques, the project successfully strengthened the spillway surface and improved its long-term operational reliability under demanding flow conditions.

Scope of Work
Steel Plate Installation:
Precision-fabricated high-grade steel plates were anchored to the spillway surface using advanced fixing and alignment techniques.
Structural Reinforcement:
Existing concrete substrate was inspected and reinforced to ensure optimal bonding and long-term stability of the lining.
Surface Protection:
Targeted zones received additional corrosion-resistant coating to improve wear and chemical resistance.
Why It Matters
This project demonstrated our capability to execute precision-grade structural works in complex hydropower environments. The steel lining not only met technical requirements but also enhanced the long-term resilience and operational safety of the spillway under high-velocity flow conditions.
